Four businesses in the area were recently listed on the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Web site as being in non-compliance and having other violations during its annual food safety inspections.

After a listeria outbreak that killed 20 people across Canada, Maple Leaf food CEO Michael McCain has been named The Canadian Press Business news aker of the Year. McCain was applauded for immediately accepting responsibility for the outbreak in August. He says he hopes becoming a leader in food safety will win back the trust of Canadians.
