The mission statement of all of these organizations involves, in some way or another, ending the pain and suffering caused by tobacco throughout the ages. Many e-cigarette supporters seem to have the exact same mission. So how can one explain their heavy-handed displays of opposition to a product that could potentially end that pain and suffering they've battles against for years?
Many electronic cigarette proponents, including Dr. Siegel and Tyler Bullock of the E Cig Cabin , believe that the motivations behind these negative press campaigns may be more than just those of public health and well-being. “If the end-game of these organizations is to find a practical and effective method of quitting tobacco and improve the country's public health, the game would have been over a few years ago. But it's not. The battle still rages and no progress is being made. When the e-cigarette world said, 'Here, here's a product that's been proven time and again to help smokers put down their cancer sticks for good and even been shown in clinical studies to be virtually harmless in comparison,' these titans of the public health arena should have jumped into action. They should have contributed money for more thorough research, lobbied for quality control, or at least kept an open mind toward an idea that has enormous potential to eradicate the tobacco epidemic forever. But the fact that they're doing exactly the opposite is living proof that their agenda lies somewhere beyond their supposed goal of saving lives,” said Bullock when asked his thoughts on how anti-tobacco groups have responded to the electronic cigarette revolution.
