WOW Logistics is offering college scholarship to students seeking a degree in dairy or food science majors. Each year, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research, WOW awards a $1,000 scholarship to a student attending a University of Wisconsin System school.

The group says it recognizes the significance of the dairy industry Wisconsin and the high cost of education for the students seeking theses degrees. WOW Logistics works closely with nearly 50 clients within the dairy industry to handle and store more than one billion pounds of dairy products each year.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must currently be enrolled in a University of Wisconsin System school, be majoring in a dairy or food science program, and must be a sophomore, junior or senior in college.

Applications must be completed and returned by March 29.

Assistant Professor of Food Science (Food Microbiology)

Tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level (60% research, 40% teaching) specializing in food microbiology. Research areas include, but are not limited to: 1) systems biology of non-pathogenic mold, yeast, or bacterial food fermentation organisms; 2) impact of foods (including prebiotics and probiotics) on the human gastrointestinal tract microbiota and functions; or 3) pathogenesis or physiology of foodborne pathogens. This position carries a commitment to the three important functions of resident instruction, research, and outreach, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to Faculty rank.
