Linwood Arboretum
Visiting and enjoying the Linwood Arboretum is free but memberships are available at $25 for individual, $30 for family and $5 for children under 12. The arboretum is also looking for support in terms of helping with seasonal work like weeding and pruning. See www.linwood-arboretum.org. Mainland Homecoming
Mainland Regional High School will face Oakcrest 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. Prior to the game, at 4:30 p.m. there will be a dedication of the new science wing and Mustang Way. The Homecoming king and queen will be announced at halftime.
Flea Market
The Linwood Volunteer Fire Co. will hold its second annual flea market 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at 750 Lincoln Ave. The event, called "Junk in the Trunk," will allow venders to sell what ever they can fit in the truck of their car. There will be more than 20 venders selling items from children’s clothes to jewelry and everything in between. The money raised from renting vender spots will go to our fund to restore a 1963 Pirsch pumper. The truck was an active vehicle until 2006. This event will run consecutively with the department’s third annual coat drive for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Venders are needed. Call Marc Ginsberg at (609) 377-1902.
