Each day, we are fed an enormous amount of healthy information. It is this same information that is causing us to gain weight. There is constantly some new piece of data that is going to change the face of dieting. The truth is that the problem is in our culture itself. We are doing just a few things wrong that are making the biggest impact on our weight loss efforts. These are the 3 mistakes that you are probably making.
1. Large Portion’s – Way too much of anything is not good for you. If you were eating something healthy, but eating large quantities of it; you would probably gain weight. You need to moderate the quantity of what you are eating. In these days it is easy to over eat with such abundant calorie dense foods. In order to stay in a healthy weight loss range, eat between 1200 – 1400 calories and spread them about between 4-5 meals per day.
2. Escalator Movement – We have become a nation of 5 minute micro-wavers, and 2 minute dishwashers. We choose to make everything easier, and take out any of the hard work that used to force us to maintain a high metabolic rate. The average person today takes about 1,500 steps per day, when the recommended amount is 10,000. From now on make an effort to park a little farther, and take the stairs. I’m not saying that you need to work out 2 hours a day, but live a more active lifestyle. I recommend getting a pedometer so that you can monitor how many steps you take each day to see if you are hitting the goal. Just doing this alone, will help greatly increase your weight loss efforts.
