DATING, MARRIAGE, PIT FALLS
DATING, SINGLE, GOD'S WAY
Prayers delivered at presidential inaugurations are rarely quoted and quickly forgotten (at least in the earthly realm).
But in today's deeply divided America, who prays the prayers – and who doesn't – is fast becoming a religio-political weathervane pointing in the direction cultural winds are blowing.
President Obama's choice of the first lay person to give the inaugural invocation might have caused at least a minor stir in other years. But because Myrlie Evers-Williams, widow of civil rights martyr Medgar Evers, was the one selected to pray – and the ceremony fell on Martin Luther King Day – the departure from clergy-led prayers provoked little comment or debate.
More controversial, however, was the last-minute withdrawal of Pastor Louie Giglio, the evangelical minister from Atlanta originally invited to offer the benediction.
Giglio's participation in the inauguration became a political hot potato after a liberal blog publicized a sermon he gave some 17 years ago condemning homosexuality as a sin and offering harsh words about the "aggressive agenda" of gay activists.
At Known Youth Ministries. Now, before you read too far into that, let me explain. It’s no secret that one day, a boy will meet a girl and fall head over heels “in love” with her. He’ll do goofy things to get her attention until that one day that he decides to muster up the courage to… ask her out. The girl, if she says yes, will probably do goofy things as she careens “in love” with the boy as well. But what’s the right way to go about dating? Does the Bible have anything to say about it?
Being a teenager is tough stuff. It’s even tougher when you begin to notice the opposite sex. Couple that with a culture that distorts the meaning and images of love and you get one mess of a idea of what love is. In fact, by today’s standards, about 71% of people will have sex before marriage. Our world is completely off when it comes to setting standards for love, dating, and marriage....
@patriciacarrasco that is a fairytale for you? When you have no chance to meet the? guy, to fall in love, coz he goes to talk to the pastor to decide whether you even have a chance to know about him being interested in you? That’s not the God’s way, that’s Paul Washer’s way of dating. Bible nowhere says it has to be that… separated between the girl and the boy. He says to stay pure and saint before marriage, he doesn’t say, it has to be that unnatural.
Courteney Cox: 'I could use some Botox right now'
'But for God's sake, don't talk to me about dating. That whole thing starts to give me anxiety. Really? Dating? Must I? I just don't want to hear the words “blind date”. Oh, God,' she exclaims and feigns a comic shiver of distaste....

Dating? yeah, I'm 23, I'm human!: Virat Kohli "I didn't plan it at all - God's been kind. I've been able to perform consistently, and the BCCI found me worthy of something so they appointed me. It's a big honour of course - as a 23-year-old I never even dreamt of that. Hopefully, I can improve on ... |
