Gene rape in the mustard
The magazine Ökotest discovered in five impurities with gene rape, genetic of 30 mustard samples. Of it also well-known marks and offerer were concerned. Also in nut Nougat cream the testers became found. Here the Lecithin was not perfect.
With the mustard Düsseldorfer lion mustard and a mustard were of Aldi north just as of the impurities concerned as an imported genuine Dijon mustard. Probably the mustard originated from Canada, where gene rape is far common in the meantime as weeds and is hardly noticeable because of the relationship on mustard fields. 2004 and 2005 had already found Ökotest in the lion mustard gene rape genetic make-up. The manufacturers of lion mustard and the Aldi product explained opposite Ökotest that the deliveries at mustard seed were regularly examined. Nevertheless small impurities could not be completely excluded by genetically changed rape. Unfortunately Ökotest did not give data over it whether it around quantifiable quantities (between 0,1 and 0,9 per cent) acted, or around traces in smaller quantities
This is valid also for the nut creams of Zentis and Lidl, in which the laboratory traces found of Roundup ready soy beans. The manufacturer Zentis communicated Ökotest, which Lecithin referred as genetic engineering-free Lecithin, certified with a load analysis. One goes out of a nonspecific trace contamination within the range of the delivery chain, which cannot be clarified no more.
A next to each other of genetic engineering and conventional agriculture is not possible any longer, warns Ökotest due to its finds.
